'A beautiful game'

Montego Bay United's coach Paul 'Tegat' Davis has heaped praises on both teams following Sunday night's Red Stripe Premier League second-leg semi-final at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.

The 2013-14 champions, Montego Bay United, advanced 4-3 on aggregate after a very exciting match ended in a 2-2 draw at the end of extra-time. Montego Bay had earlier won the first leg 2-1 at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in St James.

It was a tactical game played in front of a jam-packed venue of mostly Arnett supporters. Cory Hylton struck for the visitors on the stroke of half-time. The home side equalised on the night when Kemal Malcolm converted a penalty kick in the 83rd minute. Vishinul Harris put Arnett ahead in injury time to send the game into extra-time, with the teams locked 3-3 on aggregate. Kashief Brown then found the clincher for Montego United in the 113th minute.

"We did not come to defend after the first-game victory. We kept ball possession and countered because Arnett had to chase the game," an elated Davis told STAR Sports.

"When we were beaten 2-1 by Arnett in the last preliminary round, I told the media that we would be champions, and now we are in the final," he said.

"It was a beautiful game of football by both teams. The teams fought hard throughout the game," the former Arnett head coach and national striker added.
