Normalcy returns to NHT
Normalcy resumed this morning at all branches of the National Housing Trust (NHT) after a conciliatory meeting held by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security earlier today.
The meeting was held in response to reported industrial action at the NHT. It was reported that over 100 customer service officers islandwide reported absent on Thursday.
The meeting was held with the management of the NHT, as the National Housing Trust Staff Association (affiliated to the University and Allied Workers’ Union), though invited to the meeting, were not in attendance.
Arising from the discussions, the Ministry was also advised that the management of the NHT and the National Housing Trust Staff Association will continue local level negotiations at a meeting scheduled for January 16.
